SHORECREST
Our Community
Shorecrest is a development of 115 homes on Hempstead Harbor at the western edge of Glen Cove, New York. When the area was developed in 1955 the Elsinore Property Owners Association was formed and land that was for the use of residents was deeded by the developer to the Association. The Association owns, maintains, and pays taxes on the beach at the foot of Woodland Road, the land above the beach extending to the fence behind the pump station at the foot of Woodland Road; the vacant land between Northfield, Southfield, and Sycamore Roads; the street islands between Northfield and Southfield Roads and Dorset Way; between Northfield Road and Garden Place, at the end of Woodland Road, at the western end of Northfield and Southfield Roads, at the intersection of Northfield Road and Berry Place, and at the intersection of Northfield Road and Dorset Way.
The Elsinore Association sponsors a picnic at the beach every summer and holds a meeting once a year. Association dues are now $200 per household each year.
THE BEACH
The Beach
All Shorecrest residents are welcome to use the beach at the foot of Woodland Road. There are no lifeguards so swimming, while safe, is at your own risk. If you bring food or drink to the beach, please use the garbage cans. Please carry any full garbage cans up to street and put them next to the fire hydrant at the top of the stairs so the garbage men will pick them up. The maintenance of the beach depends on the residents who use it.
